10th Street Children’s Academy uses the HighScope curriculum from infancy through preschool. HighScope encourages children to develop understanding of the world through active involvement with the learning environment. A major aspect of the curriculum is the ability for children to make their own choices while receiving support from teachers. Through active learning and free-choice children develop problem-solving skills.

HighScope aligns with the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards. The active-learning approach helps all ages meet appropriate developmental milestones and supports children as they prepare for kindergarten and future academic success.
