Alison Berhorst is the Director of Childcare at 10th Street Children’s Academy. She graduated from Rockhurst University in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. After graduating, Alison moved back to her hometown of Canton, Missouri. Over the next five years, she worked at the public school where she implemented speech therapy services to children from preschool to 12th grade. It was during this time that she developed her love for younger children. In her spare time, Alison enjoys spending time with her family, especially her husband, Kassidy, their son Cash and dog Chief.
Lisa Berhorst, is the COO/CFO overseeing all business operations for 10th Street. She has a BS in Accounting and Finance from Culver-Stockton College and Masters in Business Administration from Mississippi State University. After working a couple years in banking, she spent ten years with State Farm Insurance, getting experience in auditing, cash disbursed and ACH processing on both the operations and systems support side of the business. Lisa spends her time outside of work managing schedules for the family, husband BJ, and seven kids (Tedros, Royce, Abel, Temprance, Loreli, Kinnik, and Munroe) and their many activities. When free time exists she enjoys sharing her love of traveling, running, reading, and gardening with her family.
Maria Berhorst is the owner of 10th Street Children’s Academy. As her three sons graduated from college and high school, and her daughter entered third grade she graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. As an RN, Maria has worked as a hospital nurse in Hospice, pediatrics and the medical-surgical unit. In 2006, Maria earned a Masters Degree in Nursing from Walden University. After completing her Masters Degree, Maria worked in Risk Management and earned certification as a Certified Professional in Health Care Risk Management. Prior to pursuing her nursing career, Maria owned Grand Central Station Daycare Center in Canton, MO . Maria and her husband Bill enjoy the chaos, noise, laughter, and excitement that comes with spending time with their three sons, four daughters (one plus three that chose her sons), five granddaughters, and five grandsons.
